On November 25, 2025, led by Li Ronghua, Party Secretary of the School of Foreign Studies at Jiangnan University, members of the School’s Party Committee Theoretical Study Group and Party members from the Administrative Party Branch conducted a Party-building themed study activity in Shanlian Village, Donggang Town, Xishan District. The activity adopted an immersive model combining “on-site visits + discussion and exchange.” By visiting the Shanlian Village Party Building Practice Hall and holding a practical study exchange meeting, Party members gained firsthand access to valuable experiences in grassroots Party building and rural development, tempering their original aspirations and gathering strength for endeavor amidst the real-life scenery.
Guided enthusiastically by Shanlian Village’s Party member cadres, the study group first entered the village’s Party Building Practice Hall. The hall’s rich and detailed historical images and texts, vivid physical displays, and intuitive three-dimensional audiovisual materials systematically recount the village’s journey of struggle from a once isolated and backward small village to a nationally renowned “Most Beautiful Village.” The Party members listened attentively to the explanations, paused for closer looks, and engaged in in-depth discussions. They expressed sincere admiration and deep appreciation for Shanlian Village’s innovative practices of deeply integrating Party building with rural governance, industrial development, and the improvement of people’s livelihoods.
Following the visit, a practical study exchange symposium was promptly held in the meeting room of the Party Building Practice Hall. Xie Xiaoming, Secretary of the Shanlian Village Party Branch, shared valuable experiences and vivid cases on topics including grassroots Party organization construction, the deep integration of Party building with industry, and the growth and strengthening of the village collective economy. He focused on how the village coalesces the efforts of cadres and the masses, breaks through development bottlenecks, and promotes comprehensive rural revitalization. Secretary Xie’s presentation was plain-spoken, vivid, and substantive, greatly inspiring and energizing the attending Party members.
At the meeting, Secretary Li Ronghua delivered concluding remarks. She pointed out that Shanlian Village’s development practices vividly illustrate the profound meaning of “strong Party building leads to strong development.” Its effective approaches, methods, and experiences in leveraging Party building to guide rural revitalization provide important reference and practical models for strengthening and improving the School's Party building work. She emphasized that all Party members of the School should take this study opportunity to deeply comprehend Shanlian Village’s pioneering, trial-and-error spirit and its dedication to solid work, transforming it into a powerful driving force for advancing the School’s development. She urged integrating the fresh experiences of grassroots Party building into the entire process of the School’s discipline construction, talent cultivation, faculty development, and serving teachers and students, using high-quality Party building to lead the School’s high-quality development and inject “red momentum” into advancing new rural construction.
After the symposium, Ji Wangfei, Deputy Party Secretary of the School and Secretary of the Administrative Party Branch, drawing on the impressions from the on-site visit, delivered a special Party lecture for all attendees on studying and implementing the “Regulations on the Ideological and Political Work of the Communist Party of China,” delving into the core requirements, essential spirit, and practical demands of the Regulations, thereby further deepening the learning outcomes. This themed study activity was substantial in content and innovative in form. It not only broadened the horizons of Party members and strengthened their original aspirations but also coalesced their drive and unity for undertaking and achieving. Everyone expressed that they would translate the gains from this study into concrete actions of taking responsibility and making contributions in their respective posts, effectively integrating the valuable experiences of grassroots Party building into daily work. With a fuller spirit and more pragmatic work style, they pledged to contribute the wisdom and strength of foreign language professionals to the School’s high-quality development and to serving national strategic needs.
